In Virginia, there's a proposal that babies undergoing 2nd trimester vivisection in the course of an abortion must first be anesthetized.

Thanks to the reader who brought this to our attention.

She writes:

"It's definitely pointed pro-life legislation, and of course at 11 weeks pregnant myself my heart rips to think of babies needing painkillers suitable for 'undergoing amputation' (of course it also does if they get the painkillers and are killed anyway). But I guess my pessimistic way of thinking can see a law like this being accepted some day by the 'compassionate' euthanasia culture.

I agree with the reader on both counts.
