They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
The author, a woman who had an abortion when she was 29, feels that mentioning post-abortion regrets is an anti-choice tactic. She feels wounded and offended by this tactic and writes quite a long article about it. And yet, simultaneously, she expresses disdain for women who were wounded by abortion and talk about it in public:
They have clogged media online and off with stories of the
relatively few women who regret aborting and/or who crave symbolina-hood, with its complimentary gift bag of support, sympathy, and smugness.
So it's okay to be wounded by what she sees as anti-choice words, but not okay to be hurt by one's abortion choices.
