The September edition of the Elliot Institute Newsletter came out yesterday.

It includes a notice that America for Jesus will sponsor seven days of prayer, fasting, and repentance from October 18-24, 2004. Two days, October 21-22, will focus particularly on abortion through the prayers of post-abortive women:

Women who have had abortions -- as well as others who have been involved in an abortion -- who would like to participate in a special way in this event are invited to come to a Tent of Meeting and Prayer that will be erected on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., particularly on the 21st and the 22nd.

Sponsors of the event encourage as many people as possible to come to the National Mall in Washington for any portion of the seven days of prayer. Those who have been involved in abortion are particularly encouraged to attend on October 21st and 22nd. Those who cannot attend are asked to unite themselves to this effort through additional time in prayer, fasting, and repentance during this seven day prayer vigil.

and an article requesting help with a dissertation:

I am a doctoral student in clinical social work at the Shirley M. Ehrenkranz School of Social Work at New York University. I am currently interviewing women, 18-years-old and older, who have borne and raised (or are raising) a child conceived during a stranger or acquaintance rape.

The purpose of this dissertation study is to better understand the experiences of women in this situation. Total interviewing time will be approximately two hours. Interview location will either be at my home office in Manhattan or at another place convenient to you (meeting in a public setting or phone interviewing are also options).

Confidentiality is strictly maintained. Participants are free to withdraw at any time. If you have had this experience and are interested in learning more about participation in the study, please call me at 1-800-484-7333 (pin # 9803) or email me.
