In this post, I wrote about how I’m writing to each of the nine justices of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) to express “a huge piece of my mind” over their refusal to even hear the case brought by Norma McCorvey (formerly Jane Roe) to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Julie commented that “Thanks to Annie's expressed resolve to write to them, I actually checked into it, and they do read letters they get from the public. I am seriously disappointed in myself. I missed out on the affidavits, and then I missed the chance to be heard again, all through my own fault. But I will write now anyway, like Annie, and continue praying. I see a lot of resolve and integrity in the pro-life community, especially here in this blog forum, and I take heart from you. This isn't anywhere near over.”
The High Court may have denied hearing the motion to overturn Roe v. Wade, but they are still going to get the motion to overturn Doe v. Bolton, sometime in the next year or so. Helping save some women and children from suffering is better than helping save none.
Soooo---what if—we all write these 9 justices? Maybe we can effect a change—no matter how small—in their thinking and acting, just as all of you did when you bombarded the Boston Globe and syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman last May with "a mother lode of e-mails," forcing her retraction.
As the little kid keeps saying in the movie "Angels in the Outfield," “It could happen.”
Anyone in? If so, continue reading the rest here… (just to keep the "political stuff" to a minimum here!)
