I wrote Jonathan Flora and Kip Perry, writer/director and producer, respectively, of the new movie I just wrote about yesterday, A Distant Thunder. I also emailed several folks who should know about this, especially Barb Nicolosi of ACTONE and Church of the Masses.
Here's Jonathan's reply:
Fri, 16 Sep 2005 13:57:02 -0700The testimony he refers to in his note is about a college student and her boyfriend deciding against having an abortion after watching this movie. After the bf's initial understandable reluctance to watch the movie (she was in the latter part of her first trimester), he finally agreed and

Thank you so very much for your kind words and encouragement and please pass on our appreciation to Emily. Most certainly, please feel free to forward our information to those you mentioned, especially those in the mass market. As you saw in our featurette on the website, we are simply trying to get A Distant Thunder in front of as many people as possible so we might be able to invite conversation and create exposure of this critical issue in an “entertaining” manner.
While this film addresses primarily PBA, it certainly opens the door for dialogue about abortion in general as evidenced by the testimony attached. We recently screened ADT at First Family Church in Overland Park, KS, speaking to over 2,500 people with another 4,000 streaming in. We were so touched by the healing effect it had on so many post-abortive women (and some men!).
A Distant Thunder is already creating a buzz. Even though the film has yet to be released, it is receiving very favorable quotes. (Please see the attached)
More importantly, we're hearing how it is already making a difference having saved a life by influencing a young, local college student to not have an abortion as touched on above.
We have been to Washington D.C. and met with Congressman Chabot, Senators Santorum and Frist's offices and several others. They will be holding a Congressional Screening this fall and the film was screened at Chuck Colson's Wilberforce Forum a couple of weeks ago.
All this to say, doors are being opened and we very much appreciate your support.
Thank you again Annie and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
