The Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome website now has over 10,000 registered users. On the website's front page, it describes their neutral position on abortion:
This site is...."Politically Neutral", and is devoted to healing and recovery for women who've had abortions. This site does not endorse any political view about abortion, or endorse any specific religious view about abortion. It is strictly a neutral place of healing, information and support for women, their families and friends after an abortion. We treat this as a medical issue for women, not a political or religious one. Therefore at our message boards, our chats and our email lists there is no discussion allowed on prolife vs prochoice issues, judgement or questioning of women's reasons, or discussions about the "morality" of abortion. Why put scare quotes around "morality"? Women who are healing after abortion needn't shy away from taking an honest look at whether when they had an abortion, it violated their core moral values. Many women I know who experience intense negative feelings after abortion believe that these negative feelings are related to the fact that their choice to abort was in conflict with their values, whether they fully realized that at the time or not. For such women, "healing" that doesn't come to grips with the moral dimension is not going to go very deep.
