Elizabeth Cady Stanton Pregnant and Parenting Student Services Act of 2005: To help college students in crisis pregnancies not have to be forced to have abortions just so they can continue their college education. It helps put Crisis Pregnancy Centers on college campuses.

Rep. Melissa Hart, (Pennsylvania) just announced at the MFL06 that she's helping put this bill through Congress. I'll be writing my Congresspersons to vote in support of this, especially the prochoice ones (i.e., all of them). (Will you? Even if you're prochoice??)

After all, if prochoice people really want to have women having choices, they'll have to support, uh, real c h o i c e s, won't they? How could they not?

Another speaker:
To the women who are post-abortive here today and in the fight for life, we say, 'We honor your bravery, honesty and strength. Your recognition of the gift of life and the poignancy of your stories are really making a difference.
~ Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, Nebraska.

1/24/06 UPDATE: "Two-time Emmy winner, Patricia Heaton, champions efforts to mobilize behind new, innovative legislation [Elizabeth Cady Stanton Pregnant and Parenting Student Services Act of 2005] by Senator Elizabeth Dole and Congresswoman Melissa Hart benefiting pregnant and parenting students. Ms. Heaton believes the focus needs to be on those at highest risk of abortion."

Really, do go to that link. It's actually many links on the statistics as to why this law is needed, and much more.
