I'm not one who's into handing over my life to Facebook or Twitter. Or Reddit. Or Google+. Or Tumblr. Or Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee. When this blog was at its most active, the content of it alone took hours of my time daily, to do it justice. Time I still don't have just yet. And the content is the thing. With a half-million unique visitors in just over a decade, and small but steady numbers even while it's been primarily in hiatus for the past 6 years, I'm not wasting time on how many visitors any of the social media sites will drive here. People find us all on their own, it seems. A 10-year-average of about 150 daily, versus about 500 during its height in 2006.
And besides, who needs more noise and clutter in their ears and heads, after all the millions of tweets and "status updates," really?
But this certainly gives me pause to rethink Twitter, at least. Got to get this blog back to (almost) daily posting first...If I tweet at all someday, is one tweet a day enough? One a week?...It would have to be...maybe I can get a friend to do the blog's Facebook page...I really don't want the extra workload, nor the personal publicity...no headshots of me, smiling or otherwise, thank you...I might just have to borrow some technology tips on bringing this blog more up to date from our friend at Lumina, Theresa, and her blog Reclaiming Our Children...still working on all that, but stay tuned...maybe 2014 is the year...?
