The Second Day of Christmas

December 26 celebrates Christianity's first martyr - Saint Stephen - one of the original seven deacons - who was stoned to death while Saul - later Saint Paul - watched. Stephen is given the honor of being remembered on this day to remind us that Jesus will also be rejected and put to death for our salvation. The cross is never far from the crib.
