HELP WANTED
Calling all Fairfield County (Connecticut) friends who feel they are in an ok place to offer this kind of help (see disclaimer at the end):
I've just learned that one of my friends doing the bulk of the sidewalk compassionate counseling that I used to do outside the same abortion clinic where I had my abortion, has cancer and cannot join the group on Tuesday and Friday mornings as she has done for over 15 years. With prayer and hope, her treatments will succeed in eliminating her cancer, but I am putting out the call to all who might be able to:
1) stop by and join in compassionate offering of help to the women coming in for abortions on those days (Carmen is the lady to ask for, tell her I sent you at Marilyn's request; AND THEY provide all the physical-needs assistance and literature for sharing), and/or
2) PRAY FOR ALL THOSE THERE AND GOING THERE ON THOSE TWO DAYS if you cannot go (as I can't, ever since they switched the Saturday abortions to Friday). Here is Marilyn's message to her friends:
Dear Saints,Email me if anyone plans/hopes to join them, and I'll give you the address, it's in Fairfield County, Connecticut. My friends are there all winter long, no matter the weather, twice weekly, and if you can't make it in the morning, there are a small number of folks who go there towards the midday hours, to offer help to the women post-abortion on their way out, and they can always use some help.
During this difficult time while I am going through my anti-cancer regime it may be hard for me to get to the mill because I have to take so many and do so many things in the morning with my herbal "chemo" and my food preparation and eating and time spacing everything just the right way for the program to kill the cancer in my body. I am tired and weak and have to watch the weather too.
I am asking for your help. So many have called and emailed how they can help me, well, Carmen needs help sidewalk counseling while I am sick and can't be there. So far I have not figured out a way to do this and be there at the same time. Please join her Tues and Fri mornings between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. Thank you for the prayers, Marilyn
Please, ONLY those who really are emotionally-able to do something like this (and I know from personal experience how hard this is, so don't feel "expected" to volunteer in person!) and only those inclined to mercy and forgiveness and "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You."
